Primary Workshops

My Marvellous Mind - Nursery to Year 6

Managing Feelings & Emotions

The focus of this workshop is to allow children the time and space to name, identify and understand their own feelings and emotions. We will discover what makes us happy as well as explore where feelings come from and how they can be helpful or unhelpful to us. The children will come away with easy to use calming techniques as well as other simple tools which they can use on an everyday basis whenever unhelpful emotions surface.

Dare to be Brilliant - Year 3 to Year 6

Growth Mindset and Resilience

Pupils will leave this workshop having learnt how making mistakes, hard work and plenty of practise, practise, practise, really is the key to being BRILLIANT!  Together, we will explore how our brains work and appreciate the importance of having a growth mindset. Children will leave this workshop with the belief that they can be brilliant in absolutely anything they put their minds to.

Special Me - Nursery to Year 6

Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence & Respecting Differences

In this lovely positive "Special Me" workshop, children will have the opportunity to look at themselves in detail and explore their own individual strengths and abilities (their superpowers!). They will identify what makes them unique and special in this world and realise just how we can differ from one another, both inside and out. We will explore what is meant by self-esteem and self-confidence and children will leave feeling the best version of themselves they can possibly be.

It's Cool to be Kind - Nursery to Year 6

Kindness, Friendship & Empathy

Kindness can be learned like any other skills but unless we teach children to be kind, it won't become an integral part of their being. During this workshop we will explore the relationship between Kindness and Friendship and discuss what a good friend looks like. Pupils will have the opportunity to review their own friendships and discover which ones are healthy/unhealthy for them. Respecting others and bullying will also be addressed. Children will also learn about empathy and other social skills to enrich the child’s relationships with themselves and others.

Don't Worry about a Thing! - Years 4,5,6

Managing Worries & Anxieties

We all worry from time to time, some of us more than others. Sometimes children worry excessively about certain things and find it difficult to stop worrying once they have started. During this workshop, pupils will explore what, if any, worries or anxieties they have and how they can manage them effectively so they do not escalate and overtake the mind. The children will come away with tips and techniques to use to overcome any worries they may have now or in the future.

Moving on Up (Transition to Secondary) - Year 6

Managing Worries, Building Confidence and Making Friends

Moving from Yr 6 to 7 can be daunting, especially if your child does not have a sibling in the school, has just moved to the area or has possible anxiety around making new friends.  This workshop explores concerns some pupils may have about moving on to Secondary school, addressing how to make friends, recognising healthy/unhealthy friendships and building confidence. Pupils will leave with “takeaway” tools and techniques which can be applied in any scenario where they may experience worries and/or change.
